Successful surveillance audit: CRYOTEC Anlagenbau successfully certified according to DIN EN ISO 3834-2 and AD2000 HP0

CRYOTEC Anlagenbau is ready for exciting tasks: In January of this year, the specialist for technical gases received confirmation of the monitoring audit for certification and manufacturer approval according to Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU. In connection with the manufacturer approval according to Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU, the proof of strict quality requirements for fusion welding of metallic materials according to DIN EN ISO 3834-2 has also been successfully proven.

CRYOTEC Anlagenbau GmbH continues to offer the following certifications for production in its own 2,000 m² production hall:

This means that the company, which specializes in the construction of plants for technical gases, is ideally equipped for its numerous projects. These include plants for drying, purifying and separating gases, such as separating carbon dioxide from flue gases and recycling it. The demand for plants for drying and liquefaction of technical gases, such as LNG, the construction of special plants for the handling of noble gases and hydrogen is also rising steadily. Action Day “Open Factory” organized by Chamber of Industry and Commerce: Exciting insights at CRYOTEC’s Open Day

Company and factory tour at CRYOTEC: The Saxon company also welcomed its visitors in Wurzen on Saturday under the topic: “Open Factory”.

On the occasion of the 6th Leipzig Industrial Heritage Days from 23 - 26 August 2018, a number of regional companies from the economic region around Leipzig once again opened their factories. The initiative was organized by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) in Leipzig. The participating companies invited interested guests to take a look behind the scenes by joining tours and presentations.

Corinne Ziege, Managing Director of CRYOTEC Anlagenbau GmbH welcomed special guests like the President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce Kristian Kirpal and representatives of the Wurzen Standortinitiative and about 20 interested visitors. "With our participation, we do not only want to give an impression of the industrial history of the region and to present our technologies, but in particular to strengthen the perception of local companies here in the Leipzig area," explains Corinne Ziege

Further successful cooperation with COMTECSWISS GmbH: Two CO2 liquefaction plants for Australia

New contract from Australia for dry ice production: the Wurzen-based company CROYTEC Anlagenbau GmbH errects two similar plants for the production of dry ice with simultaneous CO2 recovery for a customer in Australia. By optimizing the manufacturing process, the CO2 is liquefied and thus fed back into the production cycle.

Currently the final installations and loop checks are in process. For the worldwide delivery of skid-mounted systems, the inspection before delivery is very important. Then a fast commissioning at customer’s site can be provided by using the plug & play principle.

Both CO2 recovery and liquefaction plants, each with a capacity of 600 kg/h, will be delivered by the end of August 2018. The innovative technology solutions of CRYOTEC Anlagenbau GmbH enable a considerable increase of the profitability and efficiency of dry ice production. As with previous projects, CRYOTEC will supply the systems to the Swiss plant engineering company COMTECSWISS, a manufacturer of dry ice and CO2 plants with more than 25 years of international know-how.

6th Industrial Heritage Days in Leipzig 2018: Company tour at CRYOTEC on 23rd of August

CRYOTEC opens its doors for one day: On August 23rd starting at 3 p.m. the Saxon company is pleased to welcome its visitors at the "Days of Industrial Heritage" in Wurzen near Leipzig.

During a company tour, interested visitors will have the opportunity to visit the office buildings and the production hall with more than 2,000 square meters to learn more about the company’s history and its international projects in the field of refrigeration systems.

Since 2009, the specialist for technical gases is a member of the worldwide operating EPC Group. CRYOTEC develops, produces and supplies systems for the production, storage, filling and distribution of technical gases. 11th Edition of Company Run 2018 in Leipzig: CRYOTEC Anlagenbau GmbH starting again

Sporty teamwork: CRYOTEC Anlagenbau GmbH was again part of the Leipzig Company Run with a team of ten employees this year.

On 6 June, the 11th edition of company run took place on the Cottaweg small fair grounds in Leipzig under best weather conditions. Around 18,000 runners from more than 900 participating companies from Leipzig and the region started the five-kilometer track this year. Further 15,000 fans came to support the motivated runners.

With a running time of 00:23:40, Business Development Manager, Joaquín Guerrero-Manso, was the fastest runner of the CRYOTEC team and ranked among the best 20 percent of all participants.

"The company run is a good opportunity for employees to exchange ideas and strengthen team spirit," explains Managing Director Corinne Ziege. "As every year we had a lot of fun and we are looking forward to the run in 2019."

Environmental protection through greenhouse gases? Innovative CO2 technologies are able to reduce industrial emissions

From exhaust gas to raw material: intelligent technologies reduce emissions of carbon dioxide and give benefit to the environment and plant operators. Industrial activities are one of the largest generators of carbon dioxide (CO2) discharged as exhaust gas. Therefore, it is also considered as one of the biggest pollution factors.

Although one of the main objectives of the Paris climate agreement of 2015 is to reduce global greenhouse gas emissions, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA), emissions have increased since 2017. A development that will also be focused at this year's Earth Day on 22 April 2018. In particular, carbon dioxide can be recovered from industrial processes and recycled to be reduced in the atmosphere. This is an important advantage for the environment. But the industry also profits in various ways by recycling CO2 from exhaust gases.

Innovative Technologies prevent environmental impacts and economic losses

“The mere emission of CO2 in form of exhaust gas does not only pollute our atmosphere, it also loses cash,” says Corinne Ziege, Managing Director of CRYOTEC Anlagenbau GmbH, a subsidiary of EPC Group. The Wurzen-based company specialized in technical gases, has been planning and building plants for air separation and treatment of process exhaust gases since 1995. In particular, the demand for CRYOTEC’s CO2 technologies have increased considerably in the past years.

„There are two particular applications for carbon dioxide,“ Corinne Ziege explains. "First of all, it can be inserted directly into greenhouses. As a natural fertilizer, it considerably increases the profitability. Furthermore, CO2 can be reused as a raw material, as it is often the case in methanol production plants". The carbon dioxide is filtered out from the exhaust gas, cleaned in several steps and compressed. Depending on requirements, CO2 will either be recycled directly as a gas or after subsequent liquefaction. This is a great way for plant operators to save raw material costs while increasing the efficiency of plants and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. "Due to low operating costs and low maintenance requirements it is possible to reach a return on investment (ROI) after a short time," Corinne Ziege adds.

Dry Ice – coolant of the future

A further popular method for recycling CO2 is the production of dry ice. For the production, carbon dioxide is separated from the exhaust gas and then purified and liquefied. The liquid CO2 is then expanded to ambient pressure and partially evaporated. The energy required for evaporation is extracted from the liquid CO2, which leads to freezing and the final product: dry ice. The frozen CO2 is then pressed into block or pellet form and is ready for use.

Dry ice offers a wide range of applications within the food industry, e.g. refrigeration of fish, meat or beverages, for events and shows, whenever a fog effect is needed. Dry ice is also used for medical transportation of sensitive products such as organs or blood. In the industry it is used for cleaning of sensitive surfaces by dry ice blasting, for refrigeration of technical equipment and machinery and for metalworking. „Due to its extraordinary properties, dry ice offers a various range of applications,“ explains Managing Director Corinne Ziege. „Dry ice has a constant temperature of -78,5°C (-109,3°F). It doesn’t melt but evaporates residue-free. This is where the term “dry ice” comes from. Also, it is non-toxic, odor- and tasteless and prevents and even inhibits bacterial and fungal growth.”

Dry ice plants are also profitable for private investors

In comparison to the achievable profits from the sale of dry ice, the costs for the construction of a dry ice plant are moderate and can be amortized within three to five years. The requests for dry ice are rising continuously, as it has already established itself as the coolant of the future, thanks to its numerous positive properties. Therefore, also private investors are very interested in the construction of dry ice plants.



Two new plants in record time: CRYOTEC Anlagenbau GmbH to build two air separation plants in the Middle East

High-purity nitrogen in the shortest time: CRYOTEC Anlagenbau GmbH currently fulfils this wish of its long-standing customer Havayar. The company has ordered two plants for air separation and the production of gaseous and liquid nitrogen from the Wurzen-based plant manufacturer. Both plants will be delivered in less than 11 months, subsequently assembled on site and put into operation. As part of a larger petrochemical plant, they will then produce up to 1,950 kg/h of gaseous (N) and up to 375 kg/h of liquid (LIN) nitrogen.

"Our transportable, pre-assembled skids are tested right down to the terminal box mounted on the module," explains Corinne Ziege, Managing Director of CRYOTEC Anlagenbau in Wurzen. "This ensures fast and smooth installation and commissioning at the customer's site."
